Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (TCM/A) are our primary practices, not an add-on. PTCMAAS membership standards are equal to or greater than in provinces where TCM/A are regulated by law. Our members have at least 1900 hours (3 years) of formal TCM/A education. We also require professional insurance coverage, continuing education, safety certification, criminal record checks and eligibility to work in Canada.
Membership Status
All these practitioners meet our Education standards. If an application is still in process, a footnote is attached to their listing. Reimbursement from PTCMAAS-approved insurers is not available until this footnote is removed.
Specialization
Most TCM/A practitioners in Saskatchewan could be called General Practitioners as they all treat a wide range of conditions. While some have additional interest or training in specialized areas, there is no standard system for accrediting specialties like in conventional medicine. You may find out if someone has some specialized experience or training by checking their webpage or contacting them directly.
