Our members are assessed by training history, working history, certifications and continuing education. The specific training requirements for membership are covered in our Bylaws. Please note that the education requirement is a minimum of 1900 hours in an approved Acupuncture and/or Traditional Chinese Medicine diploma or degree program. Academic transcripts might be needed to verify the applicant's education.

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP
There are currently two types of membership: Full Professional (voting) membership and provisional (non-voting) membership.
 

1. FULL PROFESSIONAL (VOTING) MEMBERSHIP

For individuals who meet the qualifications of a PTCMAAS, Inc level of professional (voting) membership.

Non-Practicing Professional Membership
For individuals who meet the qualifications of a PTCMAAS, Inc level of professional (voting) membership but are not currently practicing.

2. PROVISIONAL (NON-VOTING) MEMBERSHIP

Provisional (non-voting) members are TCM/A professionals who have the professional education, training and experience required for PTCMAAS membership but whose applications are incomplete. For example, need to provide up-to-date First Aid and CPR certificate, insurance certificate, current dues, etc. Provisional members may participate in PTCMAAS activities, including education, meetings, etc., but might not be recognized by Insurance Providers. 

Honorary Members
Honorary (Non-Voting) members include persons who are nominated by any current member of PTCMAAS, Inc and are approved and evaluated by the Board members at their discretion. The approval of Honorary Membership is based on specific and individual circumstances. Individuals who
are considered for nomination will typically provide valuable contribution to the Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture community in Saskatchewan. The Honorary Membership is designed as a means to respectfully recognize those in the community who have contributed to the TCM/A community in Saskatchewan. Honorary Members may not satisfy the professional (voting) membership levels criteria, but may influence the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Saskatchewan. For example, these members may be herbalists, doctors, lawyers or accountants.


LEVELS OF PROFESSIONAL (VOTING) MEMBERSHIP

The PTCMAAS Inc. has 4 levels of professional (Voting) membership including:
1. Acupuncturist, Ac;
2. Traditional Chinese Medicine Herbalist, TCM. H.;
3. Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, TCM. P.; and
4. Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine, M. TCM.

ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP
1. Complete the Membership Application (link above)
2. Meet PTCMAAS Inc. education standards for the level of professional membership; or meet the
registered licensure requirements in another Canadian jurisdiction.
3. Provide a current criminal record check
4. Pay your annual fees.


FEES
There is a $100.00 CAD non-refundable application fee (payable at time of application). Annual membership fee of $125.00 CAD is payable upon approval of completed application. Please make cheque or money order payable to PTCMAAS, Inc., or pay by eTransfer to


NOTE ON ASSESSMENT POLICY FOR GRANDPARENT REGISTRATION FOR ACUPUNCTURIST MEMBERSHIP LEVEL
Grandparent registration (PTCMAAS, Inc. Bylaws, Article IV, Section K) ceased to exist after October 31, 2015.


The official language of PTCMAAS is English, including all documents, meetings, and communications. We have translated a few documents as a courtesy; we cannot translate all documents. If there is a disagreement in the translation, the English version is the official one.
